How to go after your apparently UNREALISTIC dreams and achieve them

February 27, 2020 by Jane Sheeba 4 Comments

How to go after your apparently UNREALISTIC dreams and achieve them

Well, everyone has dreams. I am not talking about those dreams that lack logic that you get while you are asleep.

If you are interested to know about those kind of dreams, there’s a video. I’ll share the link to it in the description below.

Now, let’s talk about some real dreams! Dreams that are related to your life, business, career, to your passion, relationships, and so on.

Have you come across the term “unrealistic” dream? Of course I think you do.

Whenever you have a dream from your inside, a dream that you are so passionate about, you are most likely to hear this comment, “unrealistic”.

I personally think that realistic dreams are boring.

So when you come up with that big, unrealistic dream, that’s when your life, or business or whatever it is becomes interesting.

Now let’s see how you can pursue that unrealistic dream of yours and actually achieve it.

#1 Believe in yourself

Believe in yourself

When your dream is big enough to be called unrealistic, all you need is self belief.

If you lack that, chances are that you are not gonna pursue your dream beyond a point.

You will find yourself giving very many excuses for not pursuing that dream.

Why, because you don’t believe in yourself in the first place.

Self belief is so powerful that it can fuel you and propel you in the right direction.

And when you lack that you won’t be able to move forward in the right direction.

#2 Eliminate negativity

Naysayers are everywhere. When you propose your dream, you can instantly expect rejection.

Or a negative comment. Or a destructive criticism.

It’s so easy for most people to spread negativity.

What you should do is to identify any negative vibe, as it starts, and eliminate it right away.

For instance, if you have a colleague or a neighbour who is constantly giving you negative comments, make sure you stop talking to that person about your dreams or plans.

It is much better reduce the time you spend with these kind of people so you stop getting negativity any near you.

The naysayers and negative commenters can also be on social media. So watch out.

#3 Build a positive community

Build a positive community

Now that you have eliminated negativity from your surroundings, it is time for you to build a positive community.

Reach out to people you can be supportive to you of your dream.

These people can be your family, friends, neighbours, or people in social media.

And by “being supportive of your dream” I don’t mean anyone to do it for you, or do it with or help you in anyway – while those can be appreciated of course.

What I mean is a simple word of appreciation can go a long way. Any moral support is quite important too.

So identify people who provide you with such positive vibes and talk about your dreams and plans with them mostly.

And that takes us to the next point…

#4 Develop an action plan

Develop an action plan

To talk about your plan, you gotta have one!

A dream without a plan is just a dream. You cannot achieve a dream without a plan.

No matter how unrealistic your dream seems to the others, you are already believing it right?

And, you really want to achieve it. If then, you really have to roll up your sleeves and write down that game plan.

It doesn’t have to be a complicated sketch with multiple layers. It can be a very simple outline.

In fact, the simpler it is, the easier it will be for you to execute that action plan.

#5 Get into action

This is THE most important bit in pursuing your dream.

A dream without action is just a wish.

Taking action is where most people lack moving forward.

Having a dream, believing it and even making an action plan to pursue the dream are relatively easier than taking action for most people.

I have a dedicated video where I talk about how to get to action when you have an action plan.

I will leave a link to the video in the description below or you can click on the card above.

But here’s the thing – you can stand there and think about all the what ifs and buts. However, you must realize that only action will help you achieve your dream.

Action also helps you with identifying what works and what doesn’t. You can learn a lot by taking actions.

It is so powerful, because you are putting yourself right there in reality, you are doing some realistic action and then you are learning the real life struggles.

Not the challenges or struggles you read in theory but the practical struggles or challenges that occur in real for your particular situation.

And that’s called action based learning.

Which won’t happen if you don’t take any action and just keep thinking.

So to wrap up, you can and you should pursue your unrealistic dreams no matter what others tell you.

I personally feel that life would be a lot boring and meaningless without having such dreams or goals.

I don’t know what I would do if I don’t have any such goals in life.

These unrealistic, big dreams that you have give meaning to your life and make your life interesting!

So go get your dreams – and don’t stop!

How to be more confident? Proven tips!

February 13, 2020 by Jane Sheeba 3 Comments

How to be more confident? Proven tips!

Confidence plays a crucial role in anything you do with business and life. It contributes a lot to your success.

People who are confident are usually easily successful. They are able to face situations without hesitation.

They believe in themselves and their skills and their ability to handle things.

And that’s how you get an edge to succeed in business and life.

Now let’s see the practical ways to boost your confidence level easily.

Eliminate negativity from your life and surroundings

Negativity is very poisonous and can easily shatter your confidence.

You cannot even live a normal life with negativity in the mix.

And how can you expect yourself to be confident?

Negativity is infused into you by negative people around you – they can be either close to you physically or they can be your friends or followers in social media.

Be very careful to identify the negative people and their negative vibes early on and eliminate them ASAP!

Remember, negativity is a silent killer. It can destroy your confidence and can leave you pathetic if you don’t attend to it early on.

Take care of yourself and love yourself

Self love is very powerful. It can do wonders in your life.

It can create magic. To love myself is one of my life’s mottoes and I do it spontaneously.

No matter whatever life demands of you, when you love yourself, you will find yourself worthy of doing it and you will also have the confidence to face it.

You must first believe that you are beautiful, adorable, and important.

Take good care of yourself. Pamper yourself.

When you get to do thousands of things in a day, make sure to prioritize self care in your routine.

As you know, you cannot pour from an empty cup. And an empty, or unfilled cup cannot share the awesomeness with confidence.

Be knowledgeable

When you know what’s involved you can easily face people and situations with confidence.

And the vice versa is so true and hard hitting.

When you have to face a situation without having knowledge about stuff, you easily feel inferior. You lack confidence.

If you are running a business, make sure you know the market, your competitors, what’s trending, what are the popular strategies and so on.

You can confidently run a business, talk to your peers and customers with confidence, respond to queries in social media and email – all with confidence if you are knowledgeable in the first place.

This tip not only helps you to boost your confidence, but also help you present yourself as a pro in anything you do.

Face your fears and get out of that comfort zone

I have a dedicated video about how to get out of your comfort zone for good. Don’t forget to check it out:

If you let yourself be in the comfort zone you are giving yourself permission to stay stagnant.

You don’t want growth. You don’t want to try new things and succeed in business and life.

And more importantly, you are FINE with that – and THAT my friend, is dangerous.

When you stay in your comfort zone and refuse to try new things or face fears, you are never gonna progress or see growth.

And that will create a big impact on your confidence.

The more your fear something, the more you hesitate to get out of your comfort zone, the lesser your confidence level will be.

So please work on that area!

Once you start facing your fears one by one and tackle them, you will gain a lot more confidence.

Accept and believe in yourself

More times, confidence is shattered by a self pity, or inferior complex.

When you compare yourself with others and think you are inferior in one way or the other, your confidence gets a big hit.

If you are unhappy about your own self – about your complexion, or your talents, or your skills, then you are not going to be confident.

Rather, you must accept yourself as you are. Remember, you are unique and you are special.

Give yourself that acceptance first.

See, confidence is not about walking into a room and proving your are better than the others.

It is about walking into the room NOT caring how special others are and focusing on your own specialities!

Now I would like to know from you: how you feel your confidence level is? And what are you going to do to improve it?

How to run a financially stable business?

January 30, 2020 by Jane Sheeba 7 Comments

How to run a financially stable business

When it comes to running a business, money is key. We can all talk about passion and trends, but without money, your business will go nowhere.

You need money for all the little and big things in business.

Even if you are not earning 5 or 6 figures as income in your business yet, you should be able to count on it as a stable income generator.

Well, the success of your business highly depends on the stability of the income it can generate – this is a plain, hard truth you have to count on!

So let’s see how you can run a financially stable business.

Don’t put all your eggs in one basket

Don’t put all your eggs in one basket

This is one of the commonest advices you can hear about making money blogging.

At the same time this is one of the commonest mistakes that most bloggers end up making.

To be honest, for many bloggers who start blogging with a dream to make it an online business – the thought of money making usually ends up monotonous.

They think linearly. However, with blogging money making is a multi- dimensional thing. You cannot just think in one direction – if you do so, you could be able to make some money. But there is no guarantee that the income will be stable.

You have to think in multiple directions so you make the most out of your time and effort you put into your online business.

For instance, if you are into Google Adsense ads, and if one fine day, Google cancels your Adsense account because some crazy person did fake clicks on your ads – your income is gone.

If you are into Amazon affiliate marketing and if Amazon changes their rules slightly you could see a huge drop in traffic and income.

Not just with money, even with traffic (which of course, is related to income) – if you are relying on one particular traffic source, you could be sadly surprised any day.

A small or big change in Google algorithm, a roll out of a new feature in a social media platform, withdrawal of a service by some big company that you rely on – all these could potentially affect your traffic and income.

Therefore diversify as much as you can so you don’t go bankrupt with one small change by someone!

Don’t spend on unnecessary stuff

There are shiny objects everywhere. Especially online!

Whenever you are encountering a little difficulty with doing a task in your business, there are hundreds of tools, software, online courses or an e-book to help you out.

But do you need all of them? Some promise you a silver bullet, some promise you an instant solution and some will tell you to push their magic button.

You need to pause before you go out and buy something that looks useful to you.

Usually most of the stuff you buy in a hurry or on impulse, are useless.

I always give myself 24 hours to make any purchase. I wait for 24 hours and then I decide to make a purchase.

After 24 hours, if I have the same urge to buy that product, I go ahead. Else I simply drop the idea!

I end up NOT buying 90% of the stuff I decide to buy 🙂

Money not spent is money saved.

Review regularly and see if you can cut on recurring costs

Recurring expenses are a slow killer. They won’t seem obvious as expenses, but they will silently rob you off.

Now, don’t jump ahead and cancel all your subscriptions. There are very crucial and useful subscriptions that are needed for any business.

For instance, your hosting bill, your website maintenance expense, the cost for email autoresponder service, or anything like these is to keep for.

However don’t be blind with your recurring expenses. You might have signed up for something hoping to try it out for a few months.

But then you would have totally forgot about it. Similarly, any free trials you sign up for that ask for your credit card details might charge you after the trial period.

If you are too busy to pay attention, you might be paying for stuff that you don’t actually use/need!

Save up smartly

You should absolutely have a savings plan for your business! The more you save, the more stable your business is.

No matter how much you have to spend on your business, you must be keen on saving a set percentage of your income.

This is not at all hard, if you plan it accordingly and if you spend in a disciplined manner.

Every bit of money you save will add up to become a backbone of your business. I have such saved up money as backup – in case of an emergency.

I also have some in fixed deposits that I cannot take whenever I like. These kind of savings are your biggest savers at times of crisis.

With a little bit of planning and discipline, it is not at all hard to run a financially stable business. No matter how much you earn, make your business financially stable using these tips.

How to get unstuck and move forward in business and life

How to get unstuck

Getting stuck or having no progress is something we all come across. It is not new.

If you have been feeling stuck and think that you don’t have made any progress either in business or life, here’s the thing – you are not alone.

Any great enthusiast or a successful business owner or a happily living person has always had this episode of feeling stuck.

It is usually a phase that extends for a particular period of time – the time depends on how fast you choose to take action to get unstuck.

Now, even though getting stuck is quite normal and everyone has gone through it, that doesn’t mean it is OK to stay stuck.

You absolutely need to get out of that stuck state because if you don’t do that, you will be well, stuck at a point in your life or business.

Stuck means, no progress, no moving forward, nothing. And that ain’t good, right?

So let’s figure out how to really get unstuck and move forward.

#1 Realize and accept that you are stuck

This is THE number 1 thing you need to do to get unstuck.

Because unless you realize that you are stuck, you are not going to take any action to get unstuck. That’s a straightforward reasoning, right?

So this means you need to analyze your efforts and the results you get by putting those efforts.

If your efforts and the results don’t equate, or if they seem disproportionate, its highly likely that you are stuck.

In addition, being stuck could also mean that you didn’t put any effort into moving forward.

So from realizing that you are stuck to…. to do something to fix it, you need one another key thing and that’s accepting the fact that you are actually stuck.

Because many times our mind won’t let us accept failure or stagnation or shortcoming.

Once you realize and accept that you’re stuck, bravo, its time for the next step.

#2 Zoom back and look at the big picture

Getting stuck is often associated with you looking too much into the details. A very detailed view of things in life and business is crucial.

But it is even more important that you often zoom back and look at the big picture.

So what happens when you zoom out?

You will be able to clearly see what you have been overthinking or overworking about.

You will be able to unearth strategies or methods that are actually giving you results, and also identify the strategies or methods that don’t work.

You will be able to clearly see what your why is, and where you are actually headed.

In most cases you are not really headed to your goal backedup by your “why”.

Or you are not moving forward with the necessary momentum to get there.

So you get to realize all these things only when you zoom out and look at the big picture.

#3 Set goal(s) and make a game plan

Now that you have realized that you are stuck and you have an idea about what’s wrong, its time to fix it.

So let’s fix that by starting with your “why”. There’s a why for anything and everything you do with business and life.

  • Why you are in this particular relationship?
  • Why are you doing this particular business?
  • Why did you make this particular decision in life?

Everything you do in life and business has a “why”.

Bring up that why and remember it. Now you need to set a realistic and precise goal that aligns with your why.

And remember, a goal is just a wish without a plan.

#4 Bring it all together and get into action

Now I can’t give you any more detailed steps because after this point, things really get personal.

Everyone’s why and goals and plans will be much different.

But here’s what needs to be done in any case. You just have to sit down and bring all the bits and pieces together.

Your realization or the data that tells you that you are stuck, your why, your goals, and your action plans.

All these need to be put together so you can actually get up and move away from the stuck position.

You don’t need to do things with utmost speed. What’s important now is that just get unstuck.

And then do things with your way, at your own pace.

The most important thing right now is that you get moving.

Why 80% of New Year resolutions are a failure (and how to fix it)

December 30, 2019 by Jane Sheeba 14 Comments

Why 80% of New Year resolutions are a failure (and how to fix it)

Do you know that over 80% of the New Year resolutions end up as a failure? It is heart breaking isn’t?

Have you thought about the reasons? Or do you just cast a resolution every year and then forget about it?

With business and life, New Year resolutions play a very crucial role. They help you stay focused on your goals and make your life and business a lot meaningful.

So I guess you cannot afford to let another year go by with failed or abandoned New Year resolutions.

Let’s find out why your New Year resolutions fail (if) and find out how to fix that.

This way for the coming years, you need not face a failure with your New Year resolutions!

Let me briefly point out why over 80% of the New Year resolutions or goals end up as a failure.

Reason #1

Most of us have wrong notions about the New Year resolutions. Some consider it as a seasonal thing.

It is rather a Marathon and not a sprint, so it takes slow and steady effort with loads of self discipline to be able to succeed with your New Year resolutions.

Reason #2

Not being reasonable and realistic with your New Year goals

Most of us end up making some of the most common resolutions like lose weight, spend more quality time with your family, make a new (good) habit, travel more, quit drinking, quit smoking and the like.

Why? Because these are the most common New Year resolutions that are around.

So naturally your mind is only trained to think like that – and you start to go the conventional route.

Now, this not a big blunder. But this is where you might go unrealistic in the first place. Because the most common resolutions are not always the ones that best suit you!

So make sure you clearly analyze your life and business and then make a resolution that would absolutely improve the quality of your life/business.

Plus it should be something that is doable for you. Something that fits in your circle.

Reason #3

You take will power for granted

Now I plan to make a separate video on this whole will power thing.

But here’s a brief – will power is a very limited resource that gets depleted every time you use it.

So you use nearly all of your will power at the beginning of the New Year where the enthusiasm is so high and you are all pumped up.

As a result, your motivation and self discipline start to fade away by the end of January or beginning of February.

And before you know it, your New Year resolution is in the air!

So these three reasons are the most common reasons as to why over 80% of the New Year resolutions fail.

Now shall we fix that?

Fix #1: It doesn’t have to be a New Year resolution

See, I am not against making New Year resolutions. A New Year means a new beginning and a great way to kick start anything.

So a resolution or a goal is a great thing to keep you focused for the entire year.

However, New Year is not the only time you have to make resolutions.

You can make goals or resolutions at any time of the year and still keep up with it.

I say this for two important reasons:

Reason #1

A New year may not be the right time to start executing certain resolutions.

For instance, let’s assume your resolution is about weight loss or working out. Around New Year is the time of celebrations.

You have Christmas, New Year, and celebrations where you are probably partying, drinking, eating lots of junk, traveling and so on.

So even though your mind wants to keep up with your resolution, the reality won’t let you do so!

Reason #2

You can achieve more than one resolutions if you spread them across the year.

The last thing you would want to do is to be hard on yourself and try to accomplish more than one resolution at the same time.

It simply won’t work. By spreading your resolutions throughout the year, you will be able to succeed with all of them.

Rather than trying to launch your course, and quit smoking and lose weight at the same time you can work on one resolution for 4 months and have all of them accomplished by the end of the year.

Fix #2: Back up your New Year resolution with a solid action plan

Well, you know that a goal without a plan is just a wish.

So if you just cast a New Year resolution on January 1st and then go lead your regular life, it isn’t gonna work. Unless you have a magic wand.

Your resolution needs a solid plan so you take those nice and strong steps to do things one by one and achieve that resolution.

For instance, if your resolution is to lose weight, you need to get precise on how much you want to lose. That’s the first step.

Then you need to devise a plan that involves you to decide how you are going to do that.

Are you going to change your diet? Do you have plans to make any lifestyle changes? And what is your workout plan?

You need to block times in your calendar for your workout plan.

You need to plan your cooking accordingly so you minimize eating out or eating junk and cook healthy food!

Fix #3: Don’t deplete your will power

I am quite familiar with people being way too enthusiastic around New Year and hence try too hard to work on their New Year resolutions.

So for the first few weeks into the New Year, you can see them all pumped up and posting pictures of their workouts, or diets, or updates telling us how they are working on quitting smoking, or the documentation of their work on launching product and so on.

But after a few weeks, you will slowly stop getting those updates. Why? Because they have depleted their will power by being too hard on themselves.

Just because you are so excited about the New Year and your New Year resolution, it doesn’t mean you have to try and do everything at once.

This will simply deplete your will power. And before you know it, you will have jumped off the wagon.

So are you ready to succeed with your New Year resolution this year? Don’t forget to make note of the tips I shared here!
