5 Reasons why should you blog consistently

Spread the love

The dynamics of a successful running blog have changed a lot throughout the years.

About a decade ago, consistency in content creation did not play a major role, unlike today.

It is a fact that the majority of the blogs are nowhere near successful as they want themselves to be.

And a primary reason for that could be pinpointed to the inconsistency in blogging.

You could have tons of other reasons on why your blog is not doing really well.

But if the consistency factor is taken care of, the other reasons can usually be eradicated with minor tweaks, efforts, and creativity.

You may write a blog only to vent your opinions out on the public domain or to simply share a valuable knowledge.

However, this post is more geared towards writing consistently for your blog for the purpose of making tons of money (yeah, you heard it right).

So scroll down below and get to know the five reasons as to why you definitely should blog consistently if you want to make a big paycheck in this field.

1. Search engines and Rankings

Let’s face it, search engines are probably going to be the easiest route for your blog to get known by people later on.

Search engines like regular content. Regular content proves that your blog is not one of those domains that’s in idle mode on the World Wide Web for no reason.

If your blog is newly launched then you need to be even more consistent with content posting.

Search engines are always looking for newer and more informative content.

When you publish content regularly on your blog, you build trust with the search engines which is crucial in obtaining rankings.

This is why news website tends to get traffic (and hence rankings too) easily because they post a lot of content on a regular basis.

It is also worth noting that search engines prefer longer content. Gone are the days when a 500-word article would rank up easily.

These days 1000 words content is a benchmark.

More words don’t imply that you voice your same opinion by writing in 10 different ways.

It simply means, more research, more effort, and more informative content than that from your competitor’s blog.

Regular content gives reasons to other popular blogs (of your niche) to link back to you.

After all, who would want to link back to your site you haven’t posted any new content since 30 days?

2. Expanding your niche audience

One of the sure-fire ways of making your content popular is to connect with the audiences on a frequent basis.

Now, this can only be achieved if your blog is up to date with trending content (of your niche).

Just like search engines, people want to keep themselves up to date with the latest news.

When your content is up to date, people tend to share it more.

This also allows for quality backlinks from reputed sources which will boost your rankings tremendously.

Another important aspect of blogging regularly is to widen your target audience. Let’s be honest here.

You definitely want your blog to be seen by the major chunk of the audiences (of your niche). Don’t you?

Bits and pieces of content curation don’t make you stand out from your competitors.

Once your target audience widens, your scope of earning money will too.

3. Increase Domain Authority

Domain Authority is considered to be a high ranking metric in SEO. It is defined by Moz.

Analysis from reputed sources shows that publishing content on a regular basis helps in boosting the blog’s Domain Authority.

High DA will invariably allow for higher rankings and hence more traffic. It is a cycle.

More content >> Higher DA >> Higher rankings >> More Traffic.

It is all about the traffic. And Domain Authority is one of the key factors for getting it.

The importance of DA can be realized from the fact that advertisers will willingly pay you a hefty sum of money for your higher DA.

This reason alone should be a strong motivation for you to blog consistently.

4. More opportunities for monetization

When you blog consistently, it gets populated which more often than not is perceived as informative in the eyes of the masses.

You want people to believe that you possess tremendous expertise in your particular niche and blogging consistently helps to establish that belief.

When you curate quality content on a regular basis, other prominent people of your niche notices it too.

They may link back to you or refer your site to others too. And more importantly, you get tons of advertising opportunities.

You can get monetization offers in the form of homepage banners, affiliate marketing, press releases, infographics or simply paid guest posting.

The quality of advertisers that your blog would get will largely be determined by the consistency of content posting.

More regular content will likely attract higher bids from advertisers.

5. Brand Value

You always want to think big and have a vision. Even though your blog might be new today but if you stick by it in the tough times, it will eventually get recognized.

And a time will come when your domain name will probably have a brand value.

The domain neilpatel.com is a brand. So are marieforleo.com and socialtriggers.com.

Search Engines these days recognize blogs with massive branding and they reward them with higher organic rankings and traffic.

Higher brand value calls for more money and easier recognition on other niches too.

Once your blog is well known for its particular niche, you can then try to establish yourself in other niches too (like most bloggers too) and you will get recognition much sooner.

It is like building an empire. You work really hard on establishing your first business.

But once it starts profiting you immensely, establishing the others becomes so much easier.

Although you must post blog consistently but make sure that your content is worth reading and definitely free from any plagiarism.

Check your content through multiple plagiarism tools before posting it.

It is imperative to give credits to other sources wherever necessary.

And always cite the references for images unless you have created them yourself.

Brand value is a big one. Consistency helps you gain authority and remain relevant. Relevancy leads to higher trust, leads, and conversions. It's all a big domino effect, but it must start with quality and consistent work.

    Thanks as always, Jane :)

    Hi Jane,
Another great article on here. The reasons for blogging or publishing blog posts consistently are enormous. But the 5 reasons you presented are amazing. Definitely, consistency helps you build trust - which is of great importance to the success of your business, because your target audience views you as being credible they will always come back to read your content and buy from you. And why would they trust you anyway, because you give them value on a regular basis. Although it's not always easy to maintain consistency, but it is achievable.

    Thank you Jane.
