5 Basic blogging notions you need to be aware of!

Spread the love

Blogging is something that’s catching up with aspiring entrepreneurs. If you own an online business, you mostly need a blog to market your business

A blog is a very powerful marketing tool. It can be very helpful to your target audience by helping them solving their serious problems.

And by doing so, you can also attract their attention so they can become your prospects.

Not just that – a blog gives you more power by increasing your reach online.

When you have helpful blog posts, they can be indexed by search engines like Google and be available for your prospects when they look up something relevant in search engines.

You can also share your useful blog posts across social media so your prospects come across them.

Email marketing can be taken to a whole new level when you have highly helpful content to share with your subscribers.

This way your online presence is amplified due to your blog content.

But here are 5 basic notions that you should keep in your mind while trying to make it big with blogging!

The 80/20 rule will always rule!

Yes. The well known 80-20 rule. 80% of your results come from 20% of the (real) work you do.

And so, you have to really focus on doing only what’s needed and what will directly affect your business.

This is well known right? But the point is not all bloggers practice this, only those who succeed do this!

And that’s not a surprise, right?

So what are the tasks that you need to do during the 80% of the time? The tasks that will help move the needle forward with your business.

Depending upon the niche, the type of your business, and its growth – you need to identify real work from time wasting tasks.

And even with real work, you must know what needs to be done for 80% of the time and what needs to be done for the 20%!

For instance, if your business is very new and if you don’t have much of social following, you must spend 80% of the time in building a strong content base for your business.

On the flip side, if you have a strong social following and if your business has had some growth already, you must focus more on promotion!

Content creation is no joke

I am not sure if someone had said you content marketing is dead. It is NOT dead and it won’t be dead anytime soon that I know of.

It is because content is the life blood of all things on the internet. And if you want your business to be successful online, you have to rock it with content marketing.

Watch these two videos to know more about this:

You need to be working hard and then get smart

I’m a believer of working smart, not hard. I practice the same. But how did I get to being smart? By first working hard.

You don’t get to learn the smart ideas or smart strategies without first doing some dumb things!

So don’t hesitate to put in some real butt work in your business, especially when you start out.

That’s because when you start out you will have a lot of things to figure out! And that’s OK.

But when you start to learn things, you will come to know what works and what doesn’t for your business.

You will also find yourself doing some repetitive tasks!

So create a system so you don’t reinvent the wheel every time with repetitive tasks.

And, make sure your system has all the strategies that work for you and none of the strategies that don’t work for you!

That’s how you get smart with working on your business. You stop reinventing the wheel every time, you start doing more of what works and you simply stop doing that doesn’t work.

You will need to invest

You can definitely start a blog for free. There’s an option. There are loads of options to do so.

But I advise you to NOT to do that.

Why? Because free always comes with a catch, and in reality there’s no free actually.

I’ve made a video where I talk about why you shouldn’t choose free hosting as an option for your business:

When you go for free – there comes many catches along with it. Watch the video to know more!

So invest in your business by all means. You might think that you are spending money on something, but I’ve gotta tell you that putting money in your business is investing and NOT spending.

You invest money into to your business so you can make money out of it! That’s how it works!

There is no overnight thingy

Overnight success? Overnight popularity? Nope, such a thing doesn’t exist.

It definitely takes hours, days, weeks and months of hard (well, smart) work to get there. To achieve success you have to be making mistakes, doing silly things and then improvise.

Does that mean you should wait until you get the perfect situation to start doing things?

Definitely not! Your first blog post will look amateurish. Your first video will definitely look awful. Your first product will definitely suck.

But that’s OK and that’s how things are.

You don’t wait until you reach a 100% perfection level to start doing things. You start and then you improvise on the go.

And that means it WILL take time to succeed. There will be mistakes, failures for you to learn from and improvise.

And then you succeed. Not overnight!

There you go! Leave a comment below letting me know which of these you have failed to be aware of?

And do you have any more important blogging notions that most bloggers don’t get to understand? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
